Where should you get married?
Weddings have been on hold for over a year and families are just getting back to making plans.
A neighbor of ours is having a small wedding in her back yard next month. She is overjoyed to create the perfect space for the nuptials, working nonstop on the garden to make it amazing. The bride and groom, friends of the family, knew they would never get in to one of their favorite venues with the backlog of weddings due to delays caused by the pandemic. They didn't want to wait, so they decided on a super-small guest list and planned for a more fun, eclectic, less serious occasion. Were it to be more over-the top, they were prepared to pull out all the stops. I was curious, so I asked what their favorite venues are. They love historic sites and wanted catering in-house. Here's their list:
Bel-Air Bay Club, Pacific Palisades
Carondelet House
The Ebell of Los Angeles
The LINE LA
Los Angeles Athletic Club
The Culver Hotel
UCLA Faculty Center
University Club of Pasadena
Yamashiro Hollywood
So, they are saving a ton of cash to plonk down on a house! In true real estate style, we looked at comps to their super-small fun, eclectic wedding. If they didn't have the backyard in Cheviot Hills, they would have done something more like...
Millwick
Kim Sing Theatre
SmogShoppe
Valentine
Grass Room
Honeypot
The Unique Space
