Culver City has no single big Halloween event in 2026. It has several smaller ones, and each is attached to a different commercial district. Ivy Station opens the weekend on Saturday, October 24. West Washington Boulevard takes the afternoon. Downtown Culver City runs its trick-or-treat on Sunday, October 25. The following Saturday is Halloween itself, and the city's free orchestra opens its season with a Halloween concert at Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
Who runs each event explains the schedule. These are merchant events, organized by the City's economic development staff and the downtown business association. They are meant to fill sidewalks in front of shops. If you know that going in, you can plan the week as a route through the city's business districts, not a hunt for one main event.

Saturday morning starts at Ivy Station
The earliest stop is the Halloween Boo Bash at Ivy Station, the mixed-use development at 8840 National Blvd. It runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 24. The listing promises trick-or-treating, crafts, face painting, glitter tattoos, balloon twisting and games. It is free, and parking comes with two hours of complimentary validation. That validation is useful for families who would rather drive in, park once and let the kids go.
The Boo Bash ends at 1 p.m. and the West Washington event starts at 2 p.m. That leaves an hour for lunch and a costume fix before the afternoon portion of the day.
Why the afternoon belongs to West Washington
Spooky Saturday covers Washington Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Wade Street, from 2 to 5 p.m. The City's 2025 announcement says the event was hosted by Culver City's Economic Development Division. When Culver City Crossroads previewed the 2024 edition, it described Spooky Saturday as a "Love Local" event. The goals were to spotlight performers, boost economic activity, enrich commercial corridors and support neighborhood businesses.
That explains why the event is spread out instead of set up in a park. For 2026, the City's event page lists two hubs:
- Vintage Faith Foursquare Church, 12668 Washington Blvd: music, crafts and a trunk-or-treat.
- EYRC parking lot, 12524 Washington Blvd: live music, games and a costume contest at 4 p.m. The contest is open to kids and to "fur babies."
Between the two hubs, trick-or-treating happens at local businesses along the boulevard, and participating shops may offer specials.
Last year's roster gives you an idea of the walk
The City hasn't published its 2026 list of participating businesses. The 2025 list is the best preview available. Culver City Crossroads' 2025 preview named these participants:
- Brasil Brasil
- Choco Vivo
- Corner Door
- Ralph's Interiors
- Nancy's Bakery
- Do it Now! Fitness
- Salon Plush
- Windfall Fit Club
- Maria's Beauty Salon
- El Jacalito Oaxaqueno
- Doble Filo Barbershop
- Humble Potato
- Sunny Blue
- Ginger's Divine Ice Cream
Treat that list as history, not a promise. It still shows what kind of afternoon this is. The mix includes bakeries, a chocolate shop, salons, a barbershop, fitness studios, an interiors store and several places to eat. Many of these are businesses a family might walk past for years without going in. Spooky Saturday gives everyone a reason to open the door.
The 4 p.m. costume contest at EYRC is the one fixed time on the schedule. A practical plan is to start at the church hub around 2 p.m., trick-or-treat your way down the boulevard, and reach the EYRC lot before the contest begins.
Sunday moves the same idea downtown
The next afternoon, the setting changes but the approach stays the same. Hip & Historic Halloween is the Downtown Culver City Business Association's trick-or-treat. It runs Sunday, October 25, from 4 to 6 p.m., and it's free. The City's event listing asks families to come in costume and walk through Downtown, collecting treats from participating businesses. As the sun goes down, families can stay for dinner specials at Downtown restaurants.
Downtown publishes no route or map. Participating shops are identified by a "BOO CREW" sign, so you'll find the route by spotting signs in windows. The Downtown Culver City event page also offers up to one hour of free parking in any of Downtown's three municipal parking structures. The event lasts two hours, so a family that wants to stay for dinner will likely go past the free hour.
The Culver Hotel stop
The best-known building on the route is part of the event. The Culver Hotel at 9400 Culver Blvd lists a Haunted House Trick-or-Treat during Hip & Historic Halloween, from 4 to 6 p.m. on October 25. All month, it is also showing classic horror and Halloween movies in its Grand Lobby. The City calls Downtown "the Heart of SCREAMland," and the hotel is the stop that fits that nickname best.
Saturday is a City economic development event for West Washington's small storefronts. Sunday is a business association event for the downtown district. Both are free, both depend on merchants handing out treats, and neither has a central stage. Together they take you through two very different business districts in about 26 hours.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year
October 31, 2026 is a Saturday. That gives Halloween a full weekend day, and two Culver City institutions have scheduled around it.
In the morning and early afternoon, the Culver Hotel serves a Spooky Afternoon Tea from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is the hotel's classic afternoon tea with Halloween-themed bites, artisan teas, festive décor and live music. The hotel's listing doesn't give a price, and it takes reservations through its events page.
In the evening, the Culver City Symphony Orchestra opens its 2026-27 season with A Concert for Halloween at 7:30 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 4117 Overland Ave. Music director Clyde Mitchell conducts, and the SoCAL Chorale joins under its music director, Marya Basaraba. Admission is free and no tickets are needed. Seating is first-come, first-served, with no reserved seats for the public. The orchestra encourages guests to RSVP on Eventbrite for updates and reminders. Parking is free if you enter from Culver Boulevard.
Because seating is first-come, first-served, arrival time decides where you sit. On a Halloween night, many families will come straight from trick-or-treating, so the earlier you get there, the more seats you'll have to choose from.
The City's own community calendar shows no entry for October 31. The tea and the concert are listed by the hotel and the orchestra themselves. If you plan Halloween night from the City calendar alone, you won't see either event.
Overland Avenue is next on the City's project list
The concert's address sits on a street the City plans to rebuild. Culver City says construction on Better Overland Phase 1 will begin later in 2026. The project adds protected bike lanes on Overland Avenue between Venice and Culver boulevards, curb extensions at Washington and Culver, and a signalized crosswalk at the library. No exact start date is posted on the Better Overland project page. Check that page before you head to Veterans Memorial Auditorium on the 31st.
