We Miss Open Houses!

We're at home this Sunday (again), so what wine pairs with virtual tours and cookies?

We're sad that we cannot meet people and show them the best of what Los Angeles has to offer in the real estate market on the Westside. So we are drowning our sorrows in flour, butter, sugar and eggs, baking it up and sharing it--no, actually we're not sharing--just eating it ourselves. Since we've started talking about wine last week, let's keep it going.

What wine pairs with cookies?
We have some ideas.

Chocolate Chip cookies, which are a favorite for our open house events, need a nice Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon. We’re already on a sugar-high, so we are going to go with a great buy from Wine Enthusiast’s 2019 American Winery of the Year, Bogle Vineyards; their 2017 Petite Sirah hits it out of the park, and you can get it at all the local markets. But there’s more to explore…

Oatmeal and Raisin cookies are yummy with either a Pinot Noir or Viognier.

Gingersnaps are great fun with a peppery Zinfandel.

If you're including white chocolate, definitely drink Champagne. The finer, the better. (Veuve Cliquot. We like their brut. A lot.)

Making a dark chocolate cookie? Pair it with a Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah or Malbec. Heaven.

Giving up on baking? We don't blame you. (Seriously--so much sourdough starter in the trash...massive bread fails in our kitchens.) Twinkies pair with a nice German Reisling or Muscat.
