The House-Hunting Wish List
When hunting for a new house, it's a great idea to have a wish list. A house-hunting wish list helps you think about what you need, want and what would be bonus features. Of course, as your realtor we want to get to know you so we really understand what you need and want in a home. We're going to ask about family, pets, work, cars, recreation, how you like to entertain, and a list of other things in order to get you the best home for you within your budget. Sharing your wish list with us helps narrow down the inventory and prevents wasting your time.
We want to know what kind of home you want and where. Are you looking for a fixer-upper or a turnkey home? Single-family, multi-family, or condo? Do you have a style preference: Spanish, contemporary, Mid-Century Modern? Do you want to be close to work or school? Do you want to be in a densely-populated area or have a more private location?
The wish list also goes beyond how many bedrooms and bathrooms you want; it delves into more specific items. Do you require a Kosher kitchen? Do you have accessibility features you need? Do you need an additional dwelling unit? Do you have athletic training requirements? Do you need a fenced-in yard? How much security do you want? A wine cellar? Kids' playroom? Pool & spa? Do you want a view?
We also want to know if you have deal-breakers. What you absolutely do not want is just as important and valid as what you do want. So if you cannot stand the smell of a bakery, we will consider if there are any bakeries near qualifying homes. If you don't want to listen to children, we will make sure you are not near a school. Don't like airplanes overhead? We will make sure you are not under the LAX flight pattern.
We have a list for you to start with. Download and edit it any way you'd like, add or subtract items, or simply print it out and let the kids fill it in. Actually, that's really fun and we highly recommend it!
